EMPLOYEES:
House Mother (Full-time) – The role of the House Mother is nurturing and supervisory in nature, akin to that of a mother in a natural home setting. The individual is required to be resident in the house; provide a sense of security; be a source of confidentiality and encouragement; maintain and enforce house rules; be a good example in terms of moral and ethical character and behavior; assist in maintaining positive relationships; manage the household budget; assist with menu planning and food service preparation; monitor the need for maintenance and repairs; participate in social events for residents; keeping house records; roster chores and responsibilities.
Relief House Mother – Assumes the same role as the full-time House Mother, but will fit in on House Mother’s off days.
Administrative Assistant: Answers the phone and greets visitors; maintains the MSM calendar; schedule and coordinate meetings, prepares communication documents as directed; filing; bookkeeping; company errands.
Cook. Responsible for menu planning and food preparation for resident.
Cleaner. Responsible for keeping the exterior of premises and all interior public areas of the facility clean at all times. (Residents are responsible for cleaning their rooms).
Gardner/Handyman: Maintains the grounds and outbuildings, maintaining hedges, lawn and trees. Performs maintenance and light repairs to the property and performs any other related duties that may be assigned, in a timely, efficient and effective manner.
Volunteers: In addition to the positions listed above, in order for the Home to function effectively our service model requires additional support personnel on a volunteer basis:
Programme Coordinator – Responsible for developing, coordinating and executing programmes of the organization including planning and coordinating all operational facets. Responsibilities include training, coordinating, and supervising of staff; solicitation and scheduling of projects; record keeping and filing, reviews, coordination and expansion of all programme safety procedures. Coordinates human, educational and social developmental aspects of life in the group home. Responsible for implementation of programmes to meet individual needs and goals of residents in the area of speech/communication, physical therapy, occupational therapy and recreational/leisure.
Employment Specialist. (Volunteer) This staff member carries out multiple functions; including job developer and job coach. In keeping with our positive youth development focus, the employment specialist builds on identified weaknesses to improve marketability of the young ladies, equipping them with necessary for integration in the workforce. Areas to be covered include work ethics and workforce readiness, developing positive attitudes, sound attendance practices, punctuality, appearance, assertiveness, teamwork, work responsibilities, interviewing, and resume writing.
